Troy, Michigan Building Project Report

In June we had a group from Kentucky come to help with the construction of our church.  They dug the trenches for the foundation which is now in place supporting the columns which are going up.   At 11:00 pm on Friday, July 27, the watchman from the church called and told me that someone had come into the church.  When I arrived, I found two vehicles that collided and came to rest right in the church, destroying the fence, the gate and a wall.  We praise the Lord for his protection that no one from the church was hurt.

Our church is going up and you are invited to help.   Just tell us when you would like to come!

Another group of 42 volunteers from Troy Michigan helped us at the Bible Institute with crafts, medical-evangelism, construction, evangelism (during the evenings), and the teaching of 60 area pastors and leaders. It was a very special time with a lot of territory being covered.  The Institute invited us back to teach again next year and would also like us to help them with a two story building they want to use as the men's dormitory.   We praise the Lord for several people who prayed to received Christ as their personal Savior during our evening meetings, including the driver of the rental van!  On Sunday July 29th, the driver came to our church for the first time as a brother in Christ!

A group in July spent a week  visiting several schools in Guatemala City, Escuintla and Santa Lucia. During the 20 presentations made to 12 different schools, they had the joy of seeing 4,000 students pray to give their lives to Jesus Christ!  For all of the above we praise His Name, and give Him all the honor and glory!

Thank you so very much for your partnership in this ministry. We do appreciate your prayers!  If the Lord leads you to be involved by supporting this ministry financially, please send checks to: Impact
International (P.O. Box 160, Boca Raton, Florida 33429) and designate them to the ministry of Ezequiel and Lara Martinez.  We want you to know that the Lord is blessing this ministry tremendously. We are expanding due to the enormous response we are witnessing.  Please pray that the Lord will provide for the support of Esteban and Marisol, as we consider calling them into full time ministry with the Impact Guatemala team in the next few weeks.

Please also pray for our son Tony, who has made the decision to come with the work full time and soon will be in the process of raising support.  You will hear more about this in the near future.

This is the group that came to WORK...WORK....WORK!  They have come all the way from a church in Troy, Michigan, USA, to build a ladies' dormitory at the Berean Bible Camp in Huehuetenango, Guatemala.
Some of the local Bible students react to their effort by saying, "If this is the way they work in the United States, then I don't want to go there!"

Housewives, young people, students and senior citizens were all involved in the work.

There are 6 different ethnic groups that come here for training.  This is just a fraction of  the 34 different ethnic groups found in Guatemala!

While some were building, others were teaching.  One of the pastors of the Troy Church taught on Corinthians and another member of the church taught methods of Bible study.  Ezequiel and another missionary translated for them.

With so many hands, in practically no time at all, the roof is well under way!  This group completed the entire 25 x 200 foot roof in only in two days!

A job well done!
